Electro Man

xLand, 1992

One of the most iconic Polish games of the early 1990s, created by Maciej Miąsik and Janusz Pelc at XLand and released for PC. Electro Body (known internationally as Electro Man) was among the first Polish titles developed for the DOS platform, proving that Polish productions could stand shoulder to shoulder with their Western counterparts in both design and technical execution.

The player assumes the role of a commando on a mission through a futuristic complex filled with robots, traps, and maze-like corridors. The game blends platforming and puzzle-solving, demanding precision, planning, and a keen sense of spatial awareness. Its world - dominated by steel structures, neon lights, and electronic music - drew inspiration from late-1980s pop culture, especially the aesthetics of VHS-era science fiction films.

For its time, Electro Body stood out with its detailed VGA graphics, distinctive soundtrack, and fluid animations. Its English-language version, Electro Man, was released in the United States by Epic MegaGames, making it one of the earliest Polish titles to reach the Western gaming market.
